Critical illness poly-neuropathy following severe hyperpyrexia

Two patients developed critical illness polyneuro-pathy after severe hyperpyrexia. Fever was secondary to a phaeochromocytoma in one patient and sepsis in the other. These observations suggest that high fever may be one possible aetiology of critical illness polyneuropathy.
