An investigation was orthogonally polarised low-energy laser beams. phase locking of two orthogonally polarised low-energy beams. Con- figurations capable of at least 95/100 phase locking of collimated beams with an overall stimulated Brillouin scattering increment of 2-3 and of focused beams with a total energy equal to 3-4 thresholds of stimulated Brillouin scattering were proposed and implemented experimentally.
