摘要

Basic principles of operation of a solid-state laser with an active element in the form of a thin disk are presented and its analytical model is constructed. Within the framework of this model, the effect of dif- ferent parameters on the laser efficiency is calculated and a detailed model for the calculation of a concrete laser design is developed, which includes the geometry of an active medium, the pumping technique, and the operation conditions. Experiments were made in which a cw output power of up to 350W and an optical efficiency of about -50/100 at a tem- perature below 0℃ for eight-fold passage of pump radiation through the active medium were obtained.
