Consideration was given to the propagation of a probing field in the medium of two-level degenerate atoms, which are pumped by a circularly polarised resonance field in the presence of a static magnetic field. It is shown that in these conditions one of the normal waves can experience amplification without inversion in the medium. In the case when the optical and magnetic fields are strong, inversionless amplification is possible with a pump of finite spectral width, which can far exceed the intrinsic width of the excited level.
