SME UNVEILS ANNUAL INNOVATIONS LIST

Honoring both innovation and manufacturing, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers announced the 2011 List of Innovations That Could Change the Way You Manufacture. Some of this year's innovations are: 1. Graphene, which is said to be not only the strongest known material ever developed at a one-atom-thick sheet of carbon, also is lightweight and electrically conductive. 2. Programmable magnets open the door to self assembling. 3. The committee also recognized the Build to Demand process as something that can change the way things are manufactured. 4.
