To compete globally, companies need to be committed to quality. Despite the recent proliferation of quality-related programs in the United States, some argue that there is little, if any, managerial commitment to using quality as a strategic advantage. On the other hand, some suggest that Asians, notably Japanese managers, devote considerable time and energy to quality as a strategic priority.
