What do managers really think of the ISO 9000 registration process?

The ISO 9000 series standards are being accepted by many U.S. manufacturing firms as the de facto standards for setting up and documenting quality systems, processes, and procedures. Although the standards are being accepted, it is unknown how the managers who have led or participated in the registration process view the standards and how registration relates to their companies' corporate quality philosophies and continuous improvement activities.
