Artificial intelligence (AI) and smart technologies are penetrating our lives at a rapid speed. What are the implications of technology for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001? What do AI and smart technologies mean for auditing and certification? Are we going to experience audits in which data flow seamlessly between a firm and an auditor? Will auditors be able to get support from predictive analytics to assess compliance against these standards? Will artificially intelligent audits mean that the whole auditing ecosystem will be an integrated learning mechanism, able to spot risks for (and associated with) firms, industries and supply chains?
