My first job out of graduate school was at PPD Laboratories in Madison. PPD is a large contract research organization with a robust quality system. I was fortunate to work in the company's method validation area, which exposed me to many of the controls and tools necessary for pharmaceutical quality. Working with clients also was a good way to hear many perspectives on quality early in my career.
