This book presents an important high-level approach to understanding how to implement a cultural transformation that will drive long-term sustainable growth and improve the bottom line in any organization. It focuses on the distinct difference between emphasizing quality in select segments of an organization versus instilling a cultural, holistic approach to quality that applies to every department.The author's view is that typical failures to commit to quality are the result of not treating quality as a cultural imperative. His process begins with understanding how quality can bring about results by learning the aspects of a behavior-based quality (BBQ) culture, and how to adopt and promote the behaviors and actions associated with his primary tenets of culture. These tenets include compliance, prevention and improvement throughout the organization. He also discusses his recommendations for strategy development, understanding organizationalstructure, building metrics that drive change and how to maintain the BBQ culture throughout an organization over time.
