The biggest mistake people make that kills their dreams of career success is failing to grow. The most dangerous pitfall most people get sucked into is career complacency. If you don't continually improve and develop yourself, you cannot expect positive change. Sadly, many professionals expect career growth to be prescribed, such as painkillers for a headache. But the only painkiller for your career headache is investing in your own continuous improvement plan.Often, people work hard to land the job or promotion they really want. After they achieve their goals, however, they forget to continually invest in themselves. Time passes and they wonder why they aren't seeing the results they want. They start looking for another job, and the vicious cycle continues.Finding another job isn't necessarily a bad thing. The problem is, no matter what job you get, you won't succeed if you don't invest in your personal growth. You will never progress and you won't see real results. It's like training to run a marathon only to stop training after your first competition-but expecting the same results after the next competition. It's not possible.
