Historically, every industrial revolution had a profound impact on management sciences and practices, including quality management. The fourth industrial revolution, or Industry 4.0, is no exception. This explains exactly why Quality 4.0 was initiated and continues to gain more attention. The Internet of Things (IoT) is an important element of Industry 4.0. In the manufacturing industry, it enables product components and production equipment to sense, collect and transmit massive data through the internet. These data can be managed, analyzed and used in real time by cloud computing and big data technology with an loT platform, which is the software platform to manage all IoT-enabled elements. Essentially, loT can make the products and production system fully connected. Currently, the emergence of loT created some fundamental changes in product development and production processes. loT also changed how customers interact with producers. Because the most important battlegrounds for quality improvement are in the product development and production processes, this change will fundamentally affect quality practices.
