Six Sigma blends correct management, financial and methodological elements to make improvements to processes and products in ways that surpass other approaches. Correct management elements are required for growing and sustaining Six Sigma and for proper selection of projects, teams, Green Belts, Black Belts (BBs), Master Black Belts (MBBs) and Champions. Correct financial elements are needed to link efforts to corporate recognized financial measures and to provide a measure of project success. Without these two elements, Six Sigma will not succeed. Other authors have noted the importance of one correct management element, project selection, and the importance of correct financial elements. However, correct methodological elements are also needed to ensure team members follow a well-established approach with the appropriate tools. The methodological elements can be broken down in a two-way table showing the statistical and nonstatistical, and technical and nontechnical features (see Table 1).
