More than 10,000 Reasons to Review QP's 2006 Salary Survey Results

For the first time in the history of Quality Progress' Salary Survey, the number of respondents has exceeded the 10,000 mark. This year, more than 10,000 quality professionals around the world participated in the online salary survey. That's more than twice as many of respondents as last year. QP obtained this unprecedented number of responses by sending e-mails to all ASQ members in the United States and Canada who had opted to receive the messages from ASQ. A total of 72,694 e-mails were sent, 2,049 of which were returned as undeliverable. Out of the adjusted 70,645 e-mails, 10,848 people responded, producing a response rate of 15.4 percent. To obtain more responses, the July issue of QP included an open invitation to complete the survey. Forty-three more people responded for a total of 10,891.
