The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. This isn't a particularly new idea; it has been around for years. We even have an entire profession built around it. Systems integrators take a defined outcome and put together various pieces to deliver the objective. They identify all the right pieces, with "right" being defined as the pieces that play together in the best way to deliver the objective.
