The future of quality management standards

My first column for "Standards Outlook" back in 2000 was about the introduction of the aerospace quality management system (QMS) standard AS9100. In the column, I discussed the concerns manufacturers and suppliers in the aerospace community had about the proliferation of standards to define QMS requirements across all industries.
