As the Sept. 15,2018, expiration date of certifications to ISO 9001:2008 and ISO14001:2004 nears, under standing how to evaluate the validity of an ISO 9001 or ISO14001 certificate is becoming increasingly important.Certification to management system standards, such as ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environmental), ISO 50001 (energy) and ISO 27001 (information security), is intended to provide confidence that an organization's processes are:1. Established for the product or service it provides. 2. Systematically carried out and consistently able tomeet applicable requirements.
