Here's a test: In Figure 1, can you quickly identify the sequence of numbers beginning with one, two, three and so on?Chances are you feel a bit overwhelmed. With so many numbers, it can be challenging. Try drawing a vertical line and horizontal line that intersect the diagram. Now, can you spot the pattern?This simple approach is called a visual model or framework. Models are great for understanding and communicating complex concepts. Visual models work best if you draw them.1 Why? From my experience as a lean Six Sigma (LSS) trainer for more than 20 years, there are three reasons: 1. Your audience does not just listen.
