Traditionally, quality initiatives have been focused primarily on manufacturing operations. Increasingly, however, business and administrative processes are also being considered. The obvious reason is that there are considerable savings potential in those areas. Business process have often been ignored in the past and are therefore ripe for improvement. Business processes can be investigated and improved With the same general approaches we apply to Manufacturing processes. For example, Six Sigma's Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (MAIC) or Deming's Plan, Do, Check, Act(PDCA) cycle are General problem-solving strategies that also apply to Administrative processes.
