Relative Probability Index C_rp: An Alternative Process Capability Index

摘要

Process capability indices (PCIs) have been widely adopted in many industries. However, many re- searchers have pointed out that the existing PCIs have a limitation and are misused in some cases. They are inconsistent in ranking processes when dealing with processes wherein either the process mean is off-target or the process distri- bution is non-Normal, or both. The most notable deficiencies for the PCIs are the lack of direct physical interpretation and one-to-one representation of a process for some PCIs.
