Implementing SPC in a Simulation Model for Manufacturing Transitions

We present a framework that integrates real-time statistical process control (SPC) charting with dis- crete-event simulation modeling. The integrated framework is particularly significant in addressing transition issues arising form the use of new input material during the manufacturing process. A case study base on a medical manu- facturing industry process is used to illustrate the approach.
