Improving and Applying Destructive Gauge Capability

When the measurement tools destroy the part which is measured or change its characteristics, it is im- possible to measure the same part several times. As a result, this kind of measurement tool is not evaluated with re- gard to its capability. Using the method developed by Mitchell et al., we present some examples and some difficulties with destructive gauge capability through real cases. We also propose an adaptation (an improvement) of the method in order to have a better estimation of the capability of the measurement tool Some applications of this new method are presented and its efficiency is shown.
