摘要

In a multiproduct batch production industry, knowledge of yield is important for effective production and quality planning activities. The article describes a case stud of the approach taken for predicting the yield of product sin a printed-circuit board manufacturing industry. The prediction is done in three stages. First, the yield is predicted based on the complexity parameters of the product. Second, past data, if available, are collected and an es- timate of the yield is obtained after adjusting for some special causes present in the data. Finally, these two estimates are combined using Bayesian techniques to get the yield of the product. Satisfactory results are obtained by the im- plementation of this procedure in the plant.
