Some aspects of increasing pulp exports from Brazil to China

Total exports from Brazil touched historic high levels in 2004. According to surveys conducted by the Brazilian ministry for development, industry and foreign trade, total exports touched US$96.5bn representing a 32% increase over last year. The ministry added that the country's trade surplus amounted to US$33.7bn, also a record figure. The ministry has observed an increasing shift towards industrial products within the country's broad palette of exports. Eight out of the 20 principal exports are industrial products while the remaining twelve are agricultural products and raw materials. The country's principal trading partners are USA, Argentina, Germany, Japan and China, the ministry added.
