As the production stoppages in Finland wear on into their seventh week, their effects are now becoming increasingly conspicuous on the British market as well. In folding-box board, magazine paper, some types of newsprint and speciality paper, the affected manufacturers are saying the circumstances are gradually beginning to hurt. If the lockouts persist into July, a scenario considered certainly within the realms of the possible, noticeable delivery losses may well occur. Some minor price fluctuations were noted in corrugated case material in June, attributed to the relatively weak demand, the abundant supply in some areas, and to exchange rates. No changes of a more considerable scale were noted in graphic paper. Where at all, prices only continued to crumble in copy paper here and there. In contrast to Continental markets, recovered paper remained stable with the sole exception of old corrugated containers, which slipped by around £5.
