Suzano to suspend pulp production at Mucuri site

Brazilian pulp and paper manufacturer Suzano Papel e Celulose S.A. will reduce its production volume of market pulp by at least 30,000 t. To this end, the company will suspend production at the Mucuri site in the Brazilian state of Bahia for the duration of seven days in the first week of November. The mill has an annual capacity of 1 million t of eucalyptus pulp. The company attributes the production downtime to the decrease in demand in the Asian markets. The situation is particularly bad in the Chinese pulp market, Suzano explains.
