Mwv Sells Specialty Papers Cedar Mill To Pspi

MeadWestvaco Corporation (MWV) has sold the Specialty Papers Cedar mill located in Potsdam/NY to Potsdam Specialty Paper Inc. (PSPI). MWV and PSPI did not disclose the details of the transaction which was completed on 1 September. The plant has one paper machine with an annual capacity of around 26,000 t and produces value added specialty latex, medical sterilisation and specialty industrial base papers for varied high performance end use applications. PSPI will retain the management as well as the staff of the mill. PSPI belongs to an investment holding company and according to MWV, has the financial resources necessary to enhance the mill's product portfolio, invest in the mill and explore new markets and customer segments.
