Tembec mulls sale of Tarascon, St. Gaudens mills

Tembec Inc. is considering the sale of its Tarascon and St. Gaudens pulp mills in France. The company announced that it has hired investment bank Houlihan Lokey to explore strategic options for the two mills of its French subsidiary Tembec SAS, including their sale. Tarascon and St. Gaudens have a combined annual production capacity of over 565,000 t of kraft pulp. St. Gaudens, which mainly produces hard-: wood pulp, has an annual production capacity of up to 300,000 t, while the Tarascon mill, which produces softwood pulp; has a capacity of around 260,000 t. The Tartas mill, where Tembec mainly produces fluff pulp, is unaffected by the strategic review.
