West Fraser Timber to shut down Eurocan mill

Westfraser Timber Co. Ltd (WFT) is permanently closing the Eurocan mill in Kitimat/ British Columbia. The Canadian forestry company reported that production at the plant, designed for an annual output of 450,000 of kraftliner and kraft paper, will be terminated with effect from 31 January 2010. The planned closure affects roughly 535 employees.
