Danish manufacturer of envelopes and office stationery and supplier of communication solutions InterMail A/S undertook far-reaching structural changes in the third quarter of its 2008/09 fiscal year. The company had already announced in April that it would adopt measures to improve its earnings situation in view of the negative impact of the economic downturn on demand for envelopes and communication solutions. At the time, InterMail planned to reduce the number of its sites, centralise production and reduce its headcount by around 15%. The Danish company estimated that the measures would reduce costs by around DKr30m (about €4m).
