Albany International to cut capacity and workforce

The manufacturer of paper machine clothing Albany International Corp. announced a variety of restructuring measures for Europe and the USA at the beginning of July. The group's subsidiary Albany International France S.A.S. is planning to close its plant in Riberac whereas Wurttembergische Filz-tuchfabrik K. Geschmay GmbH intends to further reduce its workforce. Albany International says the planned measures, for which no detailed schedule was given, are due to the necessity of bringing the capacity for paper machine clothing into line with anticipated demand.
