Saica: strike at Zaragoza and El Burgo de Ebro mills

Mill workers at the Zaragoza and El Burgo de Ebro mills of Spanish packaging company Saica - Sociedad Anonima Industrias Celulosa Aragonesa have been on strike since 1 July. At the end of the first week in July, the company confirmed reports according to which production at the Zaragoza site is at a complete standstill while around one-third of employees are on strike at El Burgo de Ebro. Reasons for the unlimited strike include Saica's decision to outsource services for the spare parts warehouses of the two sites. According to the trade union FIA UGT Aragon this decision affects six employees at the Zaragoza site and another five employees at El Burgo de Ebro.
