In February Chinese Hebei Yongxin Paper started testing a new packaging paper machine delivered by Andritz. The machine, which has a wire width of 6.2 m and a design speed of 1,100 m/min, is to produce 400,000 tpy of kraftliner and testliner at the Tangshan facility. The delivery scope of the Austrian mechanical engineering group included the complete machine with a stock preparation line, a winder and the mill's automation. Commissioning had originally been planned for the autumn of 2008. The new machine will raise the Chinese company's total capacity to 700,000 tpy.
