The key event of the business year 2008 for Reno de Medici S.p.A. was the merger with the recycled board division of Cascades S.A., the European subsidiary of Canadian paper company Cascades Inc. Sales and operating results reacted positively to the transaction while net results dropped by more than €5m owing to costs related to the capacity decrease in France.
