UPM permanently closing Myllykoski Paper

The closure of the Myllykoski Paper mill in Kou-vola, Finland, at the end of the year is now a done deal. UPM-Kymmene announced that in negotiations with employees on closing the mill, no way was found to keep the facility running profitably. It was also decided to rationalise distribution in Finland and to remove overlaps in the supply chain. A total of 392 jobs are to be cut as from January 2012, affecting 371 employees at Myllykoski Paper and 21 employees at Myllykoski Corporation and Myllykoski Sales Nordic.
