Slack demand in Germany puts price hikes for fine and magazine paper in doubt

In Germany, the lull in graphic paper sales in early summer has made the latest price hike unsatisfactory for woodfree paper manufacturers. At present it is by no means certain that price increases can last. Negotiations on higher prices for publication paper as from 1 July are in full swing, though a lull has occurred in demand here, too, and producers are running up against stiff resistance to their pricing plans. Negotiations on the mark-up for kraftliner prices as from 1 July have not been concluded yet either.
