UPM to install sheeter in Kymi

UPM is planning to begin producing coated sheets at its Kymi plant in Kouvola, Finland. Extension work on the value-adding systems is to begin in autumn 2011. Cost will amount to around €15 million. UPM will be installing a new processing line for cutting, ream wrapping, and packing the coated sheets onto pallets. Modifications on the reel handling section of PM 8 required for this downstream processing are to be carried out as well. Work is expected to take a year and be concluded in autumn 2012.
