CMPC presents agenda for 2011 and 2012, raises profits

Empresas CMPC is planning to invest more than US$600m in various expansion projects by the end of 2012.The group's annual report for 2010 reveals all investment projects which include expansion of production capacity for pulp and board. A total of $300 million is earmarked for expanding the production capacity of the Laja pulp mill up to 370,0001 by the beginning of 2012. Roughly $156m is to be spent on expanding the Santa Fe II pulp mill. Its capacity is to be raised from 940,000 tpy to 1.14 million tpy. The company says the new capacity from Santa Fe II will be available as from the end of 2011.
