While industry was still sweating over the outcome of price negotiations for newsprint, Italy's magazine paper market reported that its talks were now done and dusted. LWC buyers will thus have to pay up to €40/t more in the first quarter or the first half of 2011. The mark-ups for SC paper were more modest. Woodfree uncoated paper and recycled corrugated case material buyers might also face higher prices in the near future. Several manufacturers announced additional hikes due to take effect from 1 February or 1 March. By contrast, recovered paper converters had to dig deeper into their pockets as early as January.
