Recovered paper merchants reported experienci-ng exceptionally buoyant demand from conver-ters in Germany as the New Year began. Insiders told EUWID that a noticeable slowdown did not materialise at the year's end, due not in small part to the fact that many paper mills continued to operate over the holidays. Export call-offs have apparently bounced back strongly, with prices for Far East exports also now reaching up to €165/t FAS for supermarket paper and board.
