International Paper to found joint venture in Brazil

In order to strengthen its position in the Brazilian corrugated board packaging market International Paper (IP) is to found a joint venture with Jari Ce-lulose, Embalagens e Papel S/A, a Grupo Orsa company, in which IP will hold a 75% stake. In addition, the US-group will invest around BRL952m (about €360m) in the joint venture. According to a press release, this investment will provide IP with an"attractiveposition"in the fast-growing Brazilian market, and the company's ROI is expected to be high.
