EC approves Polyedra acquisition by Lecta

Coated woodfree paper producer Lecta has received approval from the European Commission for the acquisition of paper merchant Polyedra in Italy and Switzerland. The Commission announced on 7 June that the transaction had been cleared under the EU Merger Regulation. An agreement had already been reached by Lecta and Polyedra's Australian parent company Paperlinx in March this year. The purchase price was put at €45m. Polyedra is a paper merchant operating in the print, office, packaging and Signs & Display sectors. The company annually distributes around 200,0001 of paper to its 15,000 customers.
