Lecta acquires Italian paper merchant Polyedra

Manufacturer of coated woodfree paper Lecta Group will acquire the Italian paper merchant Polyedra from the latter's Australian parent company Paperlinx. Lecta announced that it had already reached an agreement with Paperlinx on the purchase of Polyedra but that the transaction was subject to approval by European regulatory authorities. If the European Commission has no objections, the transaction was expected to be completed within the next 90 days, Paperlinx added. According to the Australian wholesale paper supplier, the sale price amounts to €45m, representing over 90% of Polyedra's book value.
