Pricing remains the topmost issue in all segments of the German paper market. After several months of negotiations newsprint prices are seen to be unchanged or slightly weaker compared to price levels reached in 2011. Although negotiations have still not been concluded in all cases, buyers already report that they have signed contracts involving significant volumes at similar conditions as in the first half of 2011. Prices of recycled corrugated case material staged a turnaround in February.
