Core sector reports good sates and cost pressure in Germany

Germany's manufacturers of hard paper cores are content with the development of sales in 2013. According to the German trade association of manufacturers of hard paper products and round containers FHR, the companies operating in this sector succeeded in maintaining last year's sales level despite a weak start to the year 2013. Demand for roll cores from the paper, foil and textile industries showed a positive development in the course of this year. In the paper sector lower demand from graphic paper manufacturers was offset by increasing demand from packaging paper producers. Given the good overall economic environment, the German core sector's prospects for 2014 are also favourable.
