Metsae Tissue modernising TM 1 at its Raubach mill

Metsae Tissue is updating the tissue machine TM 1 at its Raubach facility in Germany.The conversion measures apply to the dryer section of the PM 1 and, besides better product quality and higher production capacity, are aimed particularly at energy savings. The order for the energy-saving measures has been placed with the Italian mechanical engineering company Toscotec. No details were disclosed about the value of the order. The investment in theTM 1 is part of its efficiency-enhancing programme, the company said. Metsa Tissue apparently managed to reduce its energy consumption by a total of 20% between 2007 and 2012. Sights have been set on a further reduction of 10% by 2020.
