Growing suspicion against Spanish corrugated cartel

After the Spanish competition authority Co-mision Nacional de la Competencia (CNC) carried out searches at various companies of the corrugated board sector as well as at the headquarters of the Asociacion de Fabricantes de Carton On-dulado (AFCO) trade association on April 10 and 11, the authority now instituted formal proceedings against a number of companies and against AFCO. The parties concerned include the following companies: Papeles y Cartones de Europa SA (Europac), SA Industrias Celulosa Aragonesa (SAICA), Embalajes Petit SA, Hispano Embalaje SA, Smurfit Kappa Espana SA, Cartonajes San-torroman SA, Rafael Hinojosa SA, Cartonajes Internacional SL, Lantero Carton SL, Cartonajes Bernabeu SA, and Cartonajes Vegabaja SA.
