Lwarcel Celulose to construct new pulp mill in Brazil

Brazilian pulp manufacturer Lwarcel Celulose is proceeding with plans to expand capacity. Finnish consulting and engineering company Poyry was awarded a contract to provide the design for building of a new 750,000 tpy line. Lwarcel Celulose reported that the production facility will be erected at the headquarters at Lencois Paulista in the state of Sao Paulo and will be commissioned in 2017. So far, the company has a production capacity of 250,000 tpy of eucalyptus pulp. The total investment sum is quoted at BRL2bn (almost €765m). Poyry has been involved in the expansion project since the planning stage when it was asked to carry out feasibility studies.
