European pulp consumption down in February

European paper mills' pulp consumption fell in February. Europulp reports a reduction of 43,000 t against January to 946,000 t (Jan. 2013:989,000 t). This figure is more or less equal to consumption in the same month of last year when 940,000 t of pulp were consumed. According to Europulp, stocks only changed insignificantly. A minor reduction of 8,000 t was recorded from January to February to 663,000 t (671,000 t). In February 2012, European converters' pulp stocks amounted to 679,000 t and were thus 16,000 t higher than in February this year, reported Europulp.
