Ten months after the start of construction, Chilean forestry company CMPC has reportedly completed over half of the work on its new Guaiba Ⅱ pulp production line.The structure of the recovery boiler has been built while work and expenditure are in line with the construction schedule and the budget respectively. "We remain confident that we can meet the commissioning deadline at the end of the second quarter of 2015", the company said. The company's statement is perhaps also a response to the inordinate delays which a few other pulp projects have encountered. For example, the Montes del Plata joint project by Sto-ra Enso and Arauco Montes del Plata is likely to commence production only in early June against the originally expected completion deadline in September 2013.
